Dr. Milena Bulgaranova-Read
Dr. Milena Bulgaranova-Read graduated from the Dental Faculty at the Medical University in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1999 and having completed 6-year course, gained her Master’s Degree in Stomatology.
She opened her own dental practice in the Chemical University in Sofia. In 2007 she moved her family to the UK where she practised as an associate dentist, in a corporate organisation, whilst awaiting visas from Australia.
That same year, 2007 the family came to Australia where after 2 months of solid studying she passed the very demanding accreditation exams set by the Australian Dental Council, It wasn’t until 2009 that the visas for permanent residency arrived. The family had to establish residency by December 2009, a 2-week trip and mission accomplished, the family finally arrived in Sydney – permanently in March 2011.
Sydney did not feel like home and following a trip to Canberra, she liked what she saw and decided to settle in the ACT.
Milena was offered every position she applied for in NSW and the ACT, finally settling on the Hawker Dental Practice where she was the associate dentist for 5 years. In 2016 this practice was being sold to a corporate organisation and having worked for one in the UK, Milena decided that this was not the way she wanted to practice dentistry. She resigned and bought The Dental Surgery in Belconnen from Dr Mark Penglase and Dr Calum Beaton. Dr Beaton undertook to continue practising to assist Milena in familiarising herself with the staff and patients.
Milena, in the precious hours that she can escape from the pressures of the surgery, likes to advance her dental knowledge of new techniques and products that are always coming onto the market. She likes experimenting with cooking, making time to get to the coast in the summer, and the snow in the winter. There are not enough hours in the week, nor has she have the energy left to enjoy working in the garden as much as she would like to.
Dr Seung Hyun Kim
We are very fortunate in having Dr Seung Hyun Kim BDS (Adelaide) join our surgery recently.
Dr Kim has spent a lot of time keeping up-to-date with new, advanced dental techniques and technologies.
After graduating, Dr. Kim gained his practical experience by working in several surgeries in Adelaide, Tanunda, Nowra and Canberra.
The constant traveling was very tiring but he gained enormous experience and is very competent in all areas of dentistry offering a wide range of services encompassing all facets of general dentistry, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry, including crown, bridge, dental implants, teeth whitening, root canal therapy, and surgical extractions.
Dr. Kim enjoys interacting and developing relationships with his patients and derives great satisfaction in achieving the best outcome for their oral health and general well-being.
Dr. Kim has been working in Canberra for the past 3 years and has now decided to settle permanently. It was a matter of pride to Dr. Kim that he has recently attained a BDS degree from the School of Dentistry at the University of Adelaide. In a short period that we have come to appreciate Dr. Kim’s skill as a dentist.
Dr Allen Woodson
Dr Allen Woodson has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Griffith University.
Allen has practiced in a number of dental clinics throughout Brisbane, Goulburn and the NSW South Coast before settling here in Canberra in 2018.
Allen is well renowned for his conservative approach to dentistry and thoroughness in his treatment planning.
Allen is a kind and caring person and a wonderful addition to the team.
When not at work, Dr. Allen enjoys chick flicks, traveling, and spending time with family.
Edward Reyes
Oral Health Therapist / Dental Hygienist
Edward Reyes is a friendly Oral Health Therapist with smiling face, is passionate about preventative dentistry and achieving optimal oral health.
He strives to provide the best possible patient care in a gentle manner ensuring each patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible during their appointment.
On weekends/downtime, he enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing instruments and going to church, which helps him always stay joyful and positive.
